How to Target Gmail Ads

Tips for Improving Your Adwords Pay Per Click Campaigns
In order to get the very best response on your online advertising it is crucial that you place your ads in front of the right people at the right moment.

A not so well known method to accomplish this with extreme precision is to target google’s mail Gmail.

If you have Gmail you will know that as you read an email there are little ads on the right hand side that appear.  These ads are sensitive to the content of the email.
How You Target Gmail Ads
Create a new Campaign in Adwords.  Under Networks, choose “Let me choose…” and then unclick the Search box and click on the “Relevant pages only on the placements I manage” under Content.

When you will be creating the ad, make sure you put in the keyword you want to trigger the ad.  This is a word that will be present somewhere in the email.

When you choose where you want it placed, write mail.google.com/mail.
Outsmart Your Competitors
If you have some major competitors that are doing email marketing, you can place your ad in front of your potential client every time he reads your competitor’s offer.

You can use your competitor’s “from” name as a keyword or any other targeted content that comes with their emails.

If you have competitors who have large and targeted lists you will be reaching the part of the audience that has gmail.  This is an extreme advantage!!
Common Mistakes In Setting Up the PPC Campaign
One common mistake when attempting to target gmail is that you do not write the correct url.  The one to opt for is mail.google.com/mail  and make sure you add the /mail part.  It you do not add it you will probably see a very low click-through rate.
Trouble shooting Your PPC Campaign
Low Click-Through-Rate (CTR):  Check that you are using the correct url: mail.google.com/mail

To check it:

  • Click on your particular campaign
  • Click on Networks
  • Under Managed Placements click “show details”
  • Under Placement (below) you will then see the url you have entered
  • Happy Advertising!

Protect Yourself From Google Cash Scams

Perhaps you’ve seen it.  In lots of places there are these so called “Google Cash”- products.  There is a “Google Cash Cow”,…

The ads for them are all different.  Some mascarade as articles.  Others as fake blogs.  What they, unfortunately, have in common is that they are scams – the so called Google Cash Scams.

Usually they will take your credit card information and promise to ship you some product.  You only pay for the shipment.  But then, the product never arrives.  Instead, you get all sorts of bills for $79, $39, etc… When you try to cancel it turns out that the 1-800 number does not exist.  The whole thing becomes a nightmare.

Could not get any worse… or could it?
He Not Only got Scammed, His Whole Business Was Affected
Chris Carpenter, a successful internet marketer with lots of great products (some of which I happily use myself), has been hit really hard by the Google Cash scammers.  He not only got their product but his whole business has been affected.  Here is why…

In 2003 he came out with a book that showed great strategies for making money online.  He called it Google Cash.  Ever since he has been building his successful business and, unfortunately, he has been naming his products Google Cash as well.   So now, when thousands of people have been affected by the Google Cash Scams, his business is taking a beating.

One thing that I really like about Chris is his positive and giving attitude.  Chris has not given up.  In fact he is asking for suggestions.  If you have any good advice for him, I know that he would appreciate it. Right now he has created a page where he teaches you how to protect yourself from the scammers.  He basically shows you how to spot a scam.  This is valuable information.

Then he is also giving away a free copy of his best seller Work At Home ebook + he has promised to mail out his whole DVD work at home course!

Take advantage of this opportunity.  Head on over and watch Chris’ video and grab his ebook for how to build a solid affiliate marketing business online.
Things to Watch Out For in Internet Scams

    • Who is promoting this information?  A trust-worthy source or a complete stranger?
    • Google it!  Search for the name of the product, company, persons involved and see what you come up with.
    • If there is a blog with comments, look at the date they were posted.  Some scam-blogs also have scam comments that seems to be very fresh.  If you go in the next day, the comment from yesterday will have today’s date.
    • Be wary if the comments are closed.
    • For specific examples of what Google Cash Scams look like – take a look at Chris’ video (picture above).

    Before You Exchange Money

    • Check out the 1-800 number (or other telephone number) and see if it is valid so that it is possible to make a cancelation.
    • Always try to pay with PayPal first.  They have a good dispute resolving backup system that could help you in case you get scammed.
    • - Get a special internet visa card that does not have credit and where you can instantly transfer (from your account) the exact amount you will be paying.  Visa is a good choice because it also provides protection in case of later money disputes.

    * The link I am giving you is my personalized link.  This means that if some time down the road you should decide to get something from Chris I he will send me a bonus.
